Agra, Uttar Pradesh:A high-profile forgery and fraud case has rocked Agra’s real estate sector, with police booking Shobhik Goyal, director of OP Chains Ashok goyal Group and son of noted builder Ashok Goyal. He is accused of forging school mark sheets, acquiring fake degrees, and using falsified documents to secure government tenders worth over ₹100 crore.

Forged certificates to degrees
According to police fir, Goyal failed the CBSE Class 10 examination in 2004 and the Class 12 examination in 2006 but obtained fake Uttar Pradesh Board mark sheets in the names of Rohta Inter College and other institutions. These forged certificates allegedly helped him secure admission to university, where he obtained B.Com and M.Com degrees.
Investigators allege that Goyal submitted false affidavits and forged documents to bag a ₹100-crore contract from the Uttar Pradesh Police Housing Construction Corporation. He also reportedly obtained high-value tenders from the Agra Development Authority and Gorakhpur Development Authority.
Complainant Mohit Upadhyay from Kamla Nagar claims the fraud caused a substantial financial loss to the Uttar Pradesh government.
