High-Profile Conversion Case: Bail Applications of 10 Accused Under Review
Agra.In the high-profile religious conversion case, the bail applications of 10 accused were presented before the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court on Thursday.
Defence counsel Mahavir Saran Tiwari, Karmveer Sikarwar and Amir Khan, appearing on behalf of the accused — S.B. Krishna, Mohammad Rustom, Ashfan Khan, Shekhar Rai, Junaid Qureshi, Abu Talib, Mohammad Rahman, Abdul Rahman, Mohammad Ali alias Piyush Panwar and Manoj Kanoujiya alias Mustafa — argued that the case appeared to be driven by a political agenda, with no concrete evidence emerging in the investigation so far.
According to Defence counsel Mahavir Saran Tiwari “The court, after hearing the submissions, summoned the investigating officer (IO) for further proceedings.”
Defence lawyers maintained that “no direct evidence has surfaced to substantiate the serious allegations, and the entire case is nothing more than a political stunt.”
