Three held in conversion case, sent to judicial custody
Agra.In a significant development in the ongoing religious conversion case, police arrested three accused — Junaid Qureshi, Abdul Rahim, and Abdullah — and produced them before the court on Thursday.
According to officials, these are the same individuals named by the victim in her statement recorded under Section 183 of the BNSS. After the hearing, the court remanded all three into judicial custody.
Prosecution officer Brij Mohan Kushwaha said investigations revealed that the accused regularly held meetings at the residence of Abdul Rahman, where plans were made for the distribution of religious literature. Police apprehended the trio while they were allegedly on their way to distribute the books.
So far, police have officially seized only religious books. Details regarding a confiscated laptop and other materials are awaited, authorities added.
