Agra Tourism Police Crack Down on Illegal Guides — Three Sent to Jail

Agra, August 3 — In a major action by the Agra Tourism Police, three touts have been arrested and sent to jail for illegally soliciting and misleading tourists near the Taj Mahal.
According to officials, a man named Sumit was found conducting unauthorized guided tours for foreign tourists without a valid license. In a separate but related incident, two roadside touts furkan and sahil were caught stopping tourists’ vehicles and misleading them under false pretenses, taking them to private showrooms instead of allowing them to visit the historical monument.
ACP Taj Security syyed areeb stated, “Such antisocial elements will not be allowed to operate near the Taj Mahal. Our team is committed to ensuring the safety and integrity of the tourist experience in Agra.”
This action comes after DNA Khabar Bharti prominently highlighted the growing problem of unauthorized tour guides and roadside touts in a recent report. Authorities took swift notice and launched a targeted operation around the Taj Mahal premises.
The Agra Tourism Police have reaffirmed their commitment to strict enforcement of tourism regulations to preserve Agra’s global image as a heritage city and to protect the interests of genuine tourists visiting the world-famous monument.
